Georg Nagel, a researcher at the University of Würzburg’s Biocenter, has won this year’s Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He is receiving the highest scientific honor for his pioneering work in the field of optogenetics, along with Peter Hegemann and Karl Deisseroth.
